LARGE SPACIOUS QUALITY BOAT

The MV Miss Rankin comfortably accommodates 12 guests and 9 crew. This 29m (100ft) steel hulled multi-purpose vessel underwent an extensive refit in 2024 and has AMSA Survey 2B. Based in Cairns and with a 4,000 nautical mile range, it can travel further and stay out longer.

We provide a flexible boat charter service, customised to meet the specific needs of every client. With an unrivalled wealth of experience working in remote destinations and in sometimes difficult conditions, our expert team plans, conducts and completes all charters with a focus on safety, efficiency and experience.

All Marine Charters are deeply committed to supporting scientific research aimed at understanding and protecting reef health. Through our research charters, we provide essential services to scientists conducting studies on coral, seagrass, dugongs, and the impact of threats like the crown-of-thorns starfish. Our goal is to facilitate the exploration of potential measures for reef protection, contributing to its long-term sustainability.

Previously based in Madang, Papua New Guinea, the owners and MV Miss Rankin relocated to Cairns, Queensland, Australia in 2024.

Our team has undertaken multiple marine and oceanographic surveys aboard the MV Miss Rankin. Working in remote locations across Papua New Guinea brings logistical challenges, but with Tony and his team, we had the support we needed to plan and execute each charter within tight timeframes. The accommodation and saloon were well appointed and made the multi-week survey periods both comfortable and productive. The large back deck, practical layout, and onboard facilities - combined with the experienced skipper Tony Collins and his crew - ensured our deployments and data collection were carried out efficiently and safely.
